Taking action to make a difference

On Thursday, 18 July, Union Preparatory School paid homage to the legacy of Nelson Mandela with a toiletry drive.

“At Union Preparatory School we endeavour to make the learners aware of the fact that we are all so much more fortunate than many others in our community,” said teacher Corrie Potgieter.

“There are many things that we take for granted that others do not have, or don’t have access to on a daily basis. It is for this reason that we decided to engage our community’s giving spirit, by requesting donations of basic, everyday toiletries.”

The donations will be used to make up toiletry packs for those in need.

Each pack will consist of a toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste, a facecloth and a bar of soap, roll-on deodorant and a 250ml tub of Vaseline.

Union Preparatory School extends its thanks to the learners and their parents who supported this project so enthusiastically!
