It was with great excitement that Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet’s Grade 4s set up their 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗨𝗠 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗦 in the Dome today, Friday, 17 February, as a History project.
𝘼𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙚𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙞𝙩, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙤𝙗𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙙𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙚𝙚.
Other classes, as well as the learners’ parents, were invited to come and have a look and there were many exclamations of amazement when they saw old coins, phones, long playing records and the like, which they haven’t seen for many years, if ever, in their lives!
𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘱𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵. 𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘧𝘶𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭.
All in all we can call this project a great success!
