This past Saturday, 5 March, Union Preparatory School’s ๐จ/๐ญ๐ญ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฆ played their very last match of the 2021/22 cricket season – a 40-over encounter against Muir College at home.
Muir won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Union’s openers got the innings off to a steady start with a partnership of 43. Special mention must be made of ๐๐ผ๐๐ต ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐๐ถ๐น๐น who made 22 with 3 boundaries, as well as ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ฒ๐น ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐น๐ถ๐ฝ๐ (13) and ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฒ ๐ ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ (16) who also made much needed runs at the back end of the innings that got Union to a total of 124 in 38.4 overs.
Union’s bowlers made a good effort to try and restict the Muir batsmen, but at the end of the day, the Union bowlers bowled too many extras, allowing Muir to reach Union’s total in 32.1 overs, to win the match with 7 wickets.
