This past Friday the Union Preparatory school enjoyed their annual athletics day in lovely sunny weather. The event was held on the Puggy Munnik field which provided ample shade for both participants and parents.
For the first time the Union Preparatory School events were in accordance with ASA schools regulations. These changes included new distances for the sprint events and the implementation of field events for the u/9 age group. The athletics day was well supported by parents and mass participation was the focus. Each pupil competed to the best of his/her ability the spectators were entertained by wonderful displays of athletic ability.
The highlight of the day came when Arnott and Daly house had the opportunity to perform the march in front of the spectators. The competition between the two houses was fierce with Arnott winning with a total of 501 points. A special thanks to everyone who assisted in making this day so successful.
