Such is the power of mentorship. It can be the beginning of a good friendship; a bond that can never be broken. It can make a lonely individual feel special and loved. It can provide support and a safe space for someone who is anxious. It can teach patience, respect and acceptance. It can honestly change lives.
Earlier today, Union High School’s head prefects and their deputies – Kendall Krige, Matthew Basson, Sisipho Arnols and Asa Matross – visited our little Grade 1s to introduce themselves and to welcome them to ‘big school’.
The little ones were quite in awe of the older learners and it is with a grateful heart that Union Preparatory School thanks them for reaching out to our young learners and by doing so, demonstrating their commitment to providing a safe, caring and supportive environment that focuses on the needs and emotional well-being of all the learners at the Union Schools.
