On Saturday, 2 November, Union’s u/9 cricket team, consisting of Qhama Jacobs, Janco du Plessis, Joubert Voster, Aidan Jaftha, Tristan Hudson, Evan van der Westhuizen, Phillip Kayster, Jake Hobson and Carl Verheul, participated in Herbert Hurd Primary School’s Mini Cricket Festival in Port Elizabeth.
In addition to receiving a certificate for their participation, the Union cricketers were acknowledged as the ‘Team of the Day’ and received aΒ medal for this achievement.
Special mention must be made of Evan van der Westhuizen, who made the most runs during the tournament and was therefore chosen as the ‘Batsman of the Tournament’!
He received another medal and a trophy for his stellar performance.
