This past weekend, Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet proudly saw four of its learners take to the mats at the 𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗔 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 and Festival, held at the Ernest Swanepoel Sport Centre in Despatch.
Akeem Christoffels, Jaqwan Ahmed, Liam Pienaar and Grace-Lynne Kitching represented their school with courage and discipline – qualities that embody the spirit of martial arts.
𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩-𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦’𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘴.
Their achievements were nothing short of impressive. 𝗔𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗺 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘀 brought home a silver medal in MMA Light, while 𝗝𝗮𝗾𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗱 dazzled with double gold in Points and Grappling. 𝗟𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗮𝗿 showcased excellent form, earning a gold in MMA Light and a silver in Grappling.
𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲-𝗟𝘆𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 displayed incredible versatility and strength, claiming three gold medals in Points, Grappling, and Continuous, along with a silver in MMA Light.
We now eagerly await the announcement of EP Colours and team selections for the Nationals in Gauteng this June.
