This past Saturday, 1 February, Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet’s u/9A cricketers hosted Laerskool Hangklip Primary in an exciting match at home.
𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗹𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁, managing to score 122 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 30 overs. Union’s Juan de Klerk was the standout performer with the ball, claiming an impressive 5 wickets for just 11 runs in 4 overs. 𝘓𝘪𝘢𝘮 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘥𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘵.
In response, Union faced some early challenges but demonstrated resilience throughout their innings. They finished their 30 overs with a total of 99 runs for 9 wickets.
