On Saturday, 11 February, Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet’s 𝗨/𝟵𝗔 𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 team traveled to Gqeberha for their first competitive fixture of the year – a 20-over encounter against Herbert Hurd Primary School.
Herbert Hurd won the toss and elected to bat. The home side batted well and managed to record 101 runs.
𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙗𝙤𝙬𝙡𝙚𝙧 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠 𝘾𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙠 2 𝙬𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙨.
Well done also to the following boys, who took 1 wicket each: Lihan van Jaarsveld, Matthew Bosch, Richter De Wet, Leandro Norman, Trenn Naude and Michael Maritz.
The little Union gents then went in to bat and did very well.
Although they put forth a stellar effort, they only managed to put 76 runs on the board, thus loosing the match by 25 runs.
