The Bruce Cumming Award is an honours trophy that is awarded at the end of each year to a learner who is an 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥. This learner achieves as a scholar, participates in cultural activities and on the sports field. He/she displays leadership qualities and sportsmanship.
𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 to Grade 4 learner 𝗡𝗶𝗲𝗸𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗮𝗿𝘀𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗱 who was the recipient of this prestigious award at this morning’s Special Assembly ![]()
The 𝗥𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗰𝗮 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆 for the Grade 3 learner/s who demonstrates the most praiseworthy social skills was this year jointly awarded to 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗯𝘀, 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗠𝗰𝗘𝘄𝗮𝗻 and 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘆𝘂 𝗞𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗼.

𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗘 to cricketers 𝗘𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗻 and 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗼𝗻, who were acknowledged for special achievements in cricket during a recent Special Assembly at Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet.
• 𝗘𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗻 was awarded for making his first 50 runs (52) in a fixture against Hangklip Primary School, while 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 was awarded for his first 50 (85) against Graeme College.
• 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 also received an award for taking 6 wickets against Queen’s College.

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 to Grade 4 learners 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗶 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 and 𝗡𝗶𝗲𝗸𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗮𝗿𝘀𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗱 who, during a Special Assembly held at Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet on Friday morning, 11 November, was recognised for their valuable contribution to their team’s success during the 2022 hockey season.
𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗶 was recognised as the learner who scored the most goals for the u/10 hockey team throughout the season, while 𝗡𝗶𝗲𝗸𝗲 was recognised as the u/10 player who saved the most goals.
