𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗨/𝟭𝟭 𝗥𝘂𝗴𝗯𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁 🏉

On Thursday morning, 24 March, Union’s u/11 rugby team left Graaff-Reinet, making their way to Gqeberha, to participate in 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹’𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘂/𝟭𝟭 𝗥𝘂𝗴𝗯𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹.

Upon arrival, they played their first match of the tournament against Westering Primary, which they drew 10-10. Congrats to 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 and 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 on scoring Union’s two tries.

Later that afternoon they played against a very strong Grey team, against which they unfortunately lost 29 – 0.

On Friday, 25 March, the team faced Herbert Herd. It was a very physical game, with the boys from both teams giving it their all. In the end, Union emerged victorious, winning the match 5 – 0. Well done to Union’s try scorer, 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹.

Later that afternoon, the boys played against a very strong St Andrew’s team. Although the Union boys dominated most parts of the game, small mistakes led to them losing the game 10 – 5. Here, 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗺𝗹𝗮 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗷𝗶𝗲𝘀 put the points on the board for Union.

Union played their last match of the tournament against Summerwood on Saturday, 26 March. Well done to Summerwood who won the match 15 – 0.
