This past Saturday, 5 March, Union Preparatory School’s 𝗨/𝟭𝟭𝗔 𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 played their very last match of the 2021/22 cricket season – a 40-over encounter against Muir College at home.
Muir won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Union’s openers got the innings off to a steady start with a partnership of 43. Special mention must be made of 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 who made 22 with 3 boundaries, as well as 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘀 (13) and 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 (16) who also made much needed runs at the back end of the innings that got Union to a total of 124 in 38.4 overs.
Union’s bowlers made a good effort to try and restict the Muir batsmen, but at the end of the day, the Union bowlers bowled too many extras, allowing Muir to reach Union’s total in 32.1 overs, to win the match with 7 wickets.
