Union Preparatory School’s academic enrichment event for the Grade 4 learners who achieved 80% and above for the third term, was a visit to the local Military History Museum yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, 17 September.
The Military History Museum captures the rich and varied military history of Graaff-Reinet spanning from the 1800’s until June 2007 and features various exhibitions detailing major moments that the town of Graaff-Reinet played in the country’s historical landscape, including:
• The Anglo Boer War (South African War)
• Graaff-Reinet Commando (First World War)
• Middellandse Regiment (Second World War)
• Regiment Groot Karoo (Group 32)
The Grade 4s enjoyed exploring the museum and the school extends a special word of thanks to Mrs Anziske Kayster and the museum staff for hosting the learners.
