Union Preparatory School’s 2019 cross country event was held with great success yesterday morning, Friday, 6 September.
This annual competition allows the learners to engage in friendly competition while also encouraging an interest in cross country and track.
The learners have to complete a long-distance course over various terrains, and while it is no easy task for these little learners to run such a demanding course, they successfully accomplished it with pride, grinning from ear to ear while crossing the finish line.
It was a really heart-warming scene to see the whole school actively participating in this event, especially the graduating batch of Grade 4s who participated in their very last cross country event at UPS.
“It’s so exciting to see this event continue to reach so many learners year after year, encouraging a habit of physical activity,” said Grade 2 teacher, Mrs Natasha Burger.
