After 14 years of dedicated service, Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet bids a heartfelt farewell to Ms Linda Greyling – affectionately known to learners, parents and staff as ๐๐ถ๐ฏ๐ต๐บ ๐๐ช๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ข.
๐ง๐ผ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ฒ ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฝ๐น๐ ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐น๐ฑ ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฑ๐ผ ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ท๐๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ. She has been the heartbeat of our front office, the calm voice in moments of chaos and the steady hand that kept the wheels of the school turning smoothly.
For fourteen years, she has served under different principals, alongside countless staff members and supported hundreds of families – always with professionalism, loyalty and unwavering commitment.
Those who have worked closely with Ms Greyling know that her role extended far beyond answering phones and managing correspondence. She was the quiet problem-solver, the organiser behind the scenes and often the one who anticipated challenges long before they reached anyone elseโs desk.

Schools are living communities built on relationships, trust and teamwork. In many ways, the secretary is ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ต๐ผ๐น๐ฑ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐ฎ๐น๐น ๐๐ผ๐ด๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ – ensuring communication flows, details are handled and daily life runs as it should. Mrs Greyling fulfilled this role with grace and good humour, supporting staff, reassuring parents and always finding time for a kind word.
