Every Tuesday afternoon, directly after school, you’ll find many of Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet’s budding artists at 𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗦 & 𝗖𝗥𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗦.
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘪𝘮 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘭𝘺 𝘨𝘦𝘵-𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴.
Led by Mrs Katie Kotze, the Grade 3 and 4 learners are introduced to various artistic techniques and materials that suit their age, interests and skill level. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙤𝙗𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨, 𝙖𝙨 𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙚𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩.
Arts & Crafts provides a wide range of opportunities for the learners to express themselves freely. The lessons also provide opportunities to share ideas and create artworks with like-minded peers who also enjoy the wonderful world of art. Learners make friends and connections amongst their peers while drawing inspiration from each other.
