A heartwarming assembly

Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet held its traditional Interschools’ Assembly in the early morning of Friday, 5 August.
The school’s dome was packed with guests attending this very special event which produced 𝙣𝙤 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨.
From the entrance made by the high school’s 1st rugby and hockey teams, the presentation of the scarves, a welcoming address by Mrs Chanzelle Heunis-Jones and the special messages delivered by Matthew Basson and Kendall Krige, Union High School’s Head Prefects, to the addresses made by the 1st team captains, Chloe Shires and Bubele Thibini, and the little teams’ war cries, it could easily be seen why this is one of the most anticipated events of the year.
A highlight of the gathering was, most definitely, Mrs Katie Kotze’s rendition of the song ‘Union’s Call’ – truly a “goosebumps” moment.
