Prizegiving

Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet hosted its annual prizegiving ceremony earlier this evening, Monday, 14 October, in the Union High School hall 🏆
𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀.
Guests were treated to performances by our talented choir, who captivated everyone with their harmonious melodies. Additionally, our gifted music learners impressed everyone with their incredible performances.
We must say, it was a very special night indeed, and we couldn’t be more proud of our remarkable learners!

The 𝗥𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗰𝗮 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆 for the Grade 3 learner/s who demonstrate the most praiseworthy social skills was this year jointly awarded to 𝗚𝗶𝗮 𝗱𝘂 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘇, 𝗟𝗶𝘆𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗞𝘂𝗹𝗮 and 𝗠𝗶𝗵𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮.

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 to 𝗝𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 who was awarded the 𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘢𝘢𝘳 𝘔𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘛𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈-10 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 2003 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘛𝘰𝘱 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘯 and 𝗦𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗱𝗼𝗺 who was awarded the trophy for 𝘛𝘰𝘱 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩 at Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet’s recent prizegiving ceremony 🌟

Congratulations to 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻 and 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝘁, who were jointly honoured with the Lutho Pohlongo Floating Trophy for Most Promising Junior Cricketers at the recent prizegiving ceremony at Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet 🏏

𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩!

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 to Kelly van Rensburg who was presented with the Horace Stanton Floating Trophy as Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet’s 2024 Grade 4 General Knowledge Champion.

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 to Keira Kingwill, a Grade 3 learner at Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet, on being awarded the 𝗦𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆 (donated by the UHS 2005 First XI) for ‘Most Promising u/9 Player’ at the school’s recent prizegiving ceremony.

𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗘 to Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet pianists Kirsten Trollip and Madison Tam who were the joint recipients this year of the 𝘈𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘺 for the Most Outstanding Piano Pupil 🎶

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 to 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗺 who received the 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘻𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦 𝘏𝘦𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘴-𝘑𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘺 for this year’s Senior Chess Champion.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to 𝗣𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗽𝗮 on winning the UPS Floating Trophy for Most Promising Chess Player, 𝗭𝗮𝗻𝗸é 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 on being awarded the 𝘑𝘗 𝘒𝘳𝘶𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘺 for Most Improved Chess Player and 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀 on receiving the Tossie Minnaar Floating Trophy as this year’s Junior Chess Champion♟️

This year’s recipients of the 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 – donated by the 2007 A-10 class for the learner/s who demonstrates strength of character and shows personal growth while maintaining a positive disposition – are Grade 4 learners 𝗟𝗲𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗵 𝗞𝗼𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗴 and 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗱𝗶 𝗠𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗵𝗹𝗲𝗹𝗲.

The Bruce Cumming Award is an honours trophy that is awarded at the end of each year to a learner who is an 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥.
This learner achieves as a scholar, participates in cultural activities and on the sports field. He/she displays leadership qualities and sportsmanship.
𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 to Grade 4 learner 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘆 who was the recipient of this prestigious award at Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet’s recent prizegiving ceremony 👏

Well done to Grade 4 learner 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗱𝗶 𝗠𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗵𝗹𝗲𝗹𝗲, whose performance as the fierce and formidable evil queen in Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet’s 2024 adaptation of 𝗦𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗗𝘄𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀, earned her the floating trophy for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Drama’ during the school’s recent prizegiving ceremony 🎭

Congratulations to Grade 4 learners, 𝗝𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 and 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘇, on being recognised as Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet’s Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year for 2024 🌟🥇

Jocelyn was rewarded with the prestigious Stern Family Floating Trophy, while Michael was presented with the coveted Carl Bezuidenhout Floating Trophy.
