From large inclusive choirs to individual musicians, all the learners of Union Preparatory School, Graaff-Reinet are encouraged to explore and respond to music.
This week, in one of 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡’𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧, the learners were able to showcase the pieces they have been working so hard on all year.
On Wednesday evening, 28 September, the annual 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗖 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗥 was held at the John Rupert Theatre.
A fitting start to the evening was the refreshments served at the beautiful Drostdy Hotel, where parents and friends had the opportunity to mingle before the show, after which everyone walked over to the theatre to watch the young musicians perform.

What was evident among these Grade 1 to 4 learners, was the rapt attention, discipline and absolute love of music that each of them displayed.
The school extends its grateful thanks to the amazing performers as well as to our music instructors, Mrs 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹, Mrs 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲 𝗞𝗼𝘁𝘇𝗲 and Ms 𝗡𝗸𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗡𝗴𝘂𝘇𝗮 for their expert tutelage and commitment throughout the year in preparation for this event.
The school also appreciates the efforts of all the dedicated members of staff who, as always, ensured that this event was a great success and that of Mrs 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 (for décor and general arrangements) and Mrs 𝗔𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗮𝗿𝘀𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗱 (for the beautiful flower arrangements) as well as all the other parents who contributed to the event.
A grateful 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞𝗦 is also extended to the John Rupert Theatre Committee for allowing us the use of their venue and the Drostdy Hotel, for their valued contribution.
