On Saturday morning, 19 June, E.P Badminton hosted a ‘Shuttle Time’ clinic at the Botanics Sports Club in Graaff-Reinet.
‘Shuttle Time’ is the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Schools’ Badminton Programme that aims to support the teaching of enjoyable, safe and inclusive badminton activities to children.
Union Preparatory School was delighted to note that several of our learners attended the event.
Presented by the EP Badminton Association’s Provincial Head Coach, Mr Ruben Snyman, in cooperation with the Botanics Badminton Club, the clinic served as a fun introduction to badminton, focussed on teaching basic badminton skills using a number of fun games and drills that encourages continued participation in badminton and daily physical activity.
Those who attended were taught the basic rules, grips, correct footwork, serves, net shots, overhead clears and drops.
The clinic was engaging and fun and Union Preparatory School thanks EP Badminton and Mr Andries Burger of the Botanics Badminton Club for presenting the learners with this opportunity.
To the learners who attended, thank you for conducting yourselves in such an exemplary manner.
Anyone who would like to find out more regarding badminton as a sport in Graaff-Reinet, can contact Mr Burger at 084 810 4818.
